Early European colonialists negated India’s legitimacy as a nation, claiming India did not exist as a unified geo-political entity during ancient times. Sankrant Sanu turns the lens on the Western countries to examine their political history, existence and geographical boundaries a thousand years ago and questions the validity of European constructs like concepts of country, nation, nationalism and sovereign state, imposed on the whole world as the universal norm. These concepts are not universal but parochial, born out of narrow, fundamentalist and rigid creeds. Indian nationalism is still stuck in European paradigms. To insist that a nation, a history or a tradition gains legitimacy only if it has textual validation is to trivialize them. In reality, the Indian nation is lush with organic cultural diversity, rich with living traditions, flowing with an unbroken continuity since ancient times, unified by the invisible thread of Dharma. পূর্ণিমার চাঁদের আলোর সাথে, বুদ্ধদেবের জীবনের একটা জীবনভর জীবনশৈলী রয়েছে !
বুদ্ধদেব গৃহত্যাগ করেছিলেন, চাঁদের আলোয় !
বোধিসত্ত্ব অর্জন করেছিলেন, বুদ্ধদেবের বুদ্ধত্বলাভের পূর্ববর্তী জন্মে, সেও সম্ভবত এক চাঁদের আলোয় !
আবার বুদ্ধদেবের মহাপরিণির্বাণও হয়েছিল, চাঁদের আলোয় !

অপরূপ সুন্দরী বিধবা উলূপীকে, অর্জুন,  বিবাহও করেছিলেন !
তাদের ছিল একরাতের বাসর !
একসন্তানের জন্ম হয়েছিল তাতে, নাম ইরাবন !
ইরাবন অর্জুনের মতই ছিলেন হৃদয়বান, অর্জুনের মতই ছিলেন চরিত্রবান !

ভারতবর্ষের ইতিহাসে, অর্জুন আর বিধবা উলূপী বিবাহই কি প্রথম বিধবা বিবাহ ?

পঞ্চপাণ্ডবেরা প্রত্যেকে, এক এক জন, এক এক বছর ধরে, দ্রৌপদীর সাথে,  একসাথে,  এক ঘরে কাটাতেন !
কাজেই দ্রৌপদীর পঞ্চসন্তান, তারা প্রত্যেকে. প্রত্যেকের চেয়ে,  এক এক বছরের ছোট ছিল !

তারপরে দ্রৌপদী কি লাইগেশন করিয়ে নিয়েছিলেন ?
না কোন জড়িবুটি প্রতিষেধক হিসাবে খেতেন ?
না কোন কবচ-তাবিজ পরেছিলেন ?
না, আর কোন সন্তান না হওয়ার জন্য,  তুকতাক করতেন ?

না পঞ্চপাণ্ডব, না দ্রৌপদী, কেউ কি কোন কন্যাসন্তান চান নি ?

না পঞ্চপাণ্ডবেরা প্রত্যেকে ভ্যাসেকটমি করিয়েছিলেন ?

গান্ধিজির মৃত্যুর পরে, আট হাজার মহারাষ্ট্রিয় ব্রাহ্মণও, দাঙ্গায় নিহত হয়েছিলেন !

গান্ধিজির মৃত্যুর পরে, আট হাজার মহারাষ্ট্রিয় ব্রাহ্মণকেও খুন করা হয়েছিল !
সেই সব মৃত ব্রাহ্মণদের গায়ে, গান্ধিজির লবণ সত্যাগ্রহের, আরব সাগরের কড়া ধাঁচের লবণ ভালোভাবে মাখিয়ে, শুখিয়ে, সাদা কাপড়ে জড়িয়ে,  মমি করে রাখার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছিল !

বীর সাভারকরের ভাই, নারায়ণ সাভারকরকেও, গান্ধিজির মৃত্যু ঘটানোর ঘটনায়,  খুন করা হয়েছিল !

একসময়ে ফ্রান্সে ভূতাত্মাকে বিবাহ করা কিন্তু আইনত স্বীকৃত হয়েছিল !

প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময়, যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে মৃত স্বামিদের সাথে পুনরবিবাহে অনুমতি দিয়েছিলেন, তৎকালীন ফরাসি সরকার !
